 Wine-mine review - August 2000
Digging up great ideas for wine lovers...
This month we reviewed a book: Floyd Uncorked
If you missed the TV series on Channel 5, which this book accompanied, do not despair. This book is an informative and unpretentious guide to the major wine growing regions of France.
Pedley provides a thorough basic overview of the major elements of vine growing and wine making. He uses the different regions to illustrate various wine styles and variations in vineyard and winery practices.
Floyd supplies the humour and a selection of traditional recipes for each of the eight regions visited.
This book will not take you long to read, but it is very entertaining and full of useful information, with plenty of colour photos of the vineyards and scenery of France.
