This Champagne house was established in 1984. Bruno Paillard was the first person to set up a Champagne House in the modern era and break the stranglehold of the Grandes Marques. The wine maker is Laurent Guyot. The champagne is made from a combination of all three traditional Champagne grapes and has won medals in the International Wine Challenge competition. It is regarded as one of the best up-and-coming Champagne Houses.
The appearance of the wine is what you would expect from a fine champagne. It is light caramel, bright and the mousse consists of a constant stream of fine bubbles. Its aroma is not hugely distinct, but there are citrus notes. The palate has plenty of citrus flavours; largely orange, and also lychees. There is pretty good length and a nice mouthfeel suggesting good structure in the wine. |
