Produced in the heart of Penedes by Frexinet, this is top-quality Cava at a real value-for-money price point. It is made with 50% Macabeo, 35% Parellada and 15% Xarel-lo, the traditional Cava grapes, and has undergone the traditional method where the second fermentation occurs within the bottle. The wine has been left on its lees (dead yeast) for three years before it is disgorged and finally bottled which ensures a very smooth, creamy mouthfeel to the wine.
Delightful effervescence, restrained but nutty, yeasty nose and a full, rich bread-y palate. This is definitely a sparkler to try, as we think that it beats many of the cheaper Champagnes in quality as well as value. A must for all Cava lovers. |
