JQWine Review - 03 06 2003
It's all about having fun & learning about wine.

This week's wine was:

Lustau Oloroso Pata de Gallina
Producer: Lustau
Origin: Spain
Vintage: None
Price: £7.98
Bought in: Widely available

Deliciously deep-coloured, rich and smelling of raisins and black treacle, this example of an Oloroso has come from a Solera of only 38 barrels.

The dark, rich colour is due to the fact that Olorosos do not develop Flor and so the wine is in constant contact with the air in the barrel. This is dry and full, so try with smoked meats and cheese.
