The largest producer of sweet Bonnezeaux wines on the banks of the Layon tributary, Château de Fesles is also a prolific producer of dry whites from Chenin Blanc and some reds from Cabernet Franc.
This sweet wine is a deeep amber colour with an aroma of rasins, honey and orange marmalade. In the mouth, it is sweet but with plenty of acidity to prevent it being cloying. The finish is long and full.
Drink this on its own, with apple-based puddings or with blue cheese or Foie gras. |
