JQWine Review - 31 7 2002
It's all about having fun & learning about wine.

This week's wine was:

Tyrell's Old Winery Pinot Noir
Producer: Tyrell's
Origin: NSW, Australia
Vintage: 2000
Price: £7.99
Bought in: Widely available

From the owners of one of the oldest wineries in Australia and the pioneer of Chardonnay, comes this atypical Pinot Noir. It is sourced from vines across Australia and trucked to New South Wales where it is carefully put together.

Aged in oak barrels, this wine is surprisingly full bodied with mouth-filling raspberry and mulberry fruit, rounded off with a savoury finish. High in alcohol and fruit intensity; this is a big wine for a New World Pinot.
