This is an excellent example of sparkling wine produced in the Anjou Saumur region by the well known Champagne house. In this botle there is Chenin Blanc, Cabernet Franc and Chardonnay blended together and matured for a number of years in the cool Tuffeau caves near Saumur.
When poured, the wine produces a constant stream of fine bubbles. It has a beautiful aroma of yeast, almonds and biscuits and tastes absolutely delicious. It is a dry wine, but not as dry as some Champagnes can be. The grapes are ripe and fruity, not acidic and tart and the finish is long. Absolutely essential drinking! |
