JQWine Review - 20 12 2002
It's all about having fun & learning about wine.

This week's wine was:

Morgon Jean Descombes
Producer: Georges Duboef
Origin: Beaujolais, France
Vintage: 2001
Price: £7.49
Bought in: Majestic Wine Warehouse

From the King of Beaujolais, Georges Duboeuf, comes this impressive example of Morgon, one of the heavier styles of the ten crus of Beaujolais. Made from the Gamay grapevines and planted on granite soils, this wine has a style and class of its own.

Deep coloured, with a fragrance of violets and strawberries, mouthfilling bramble fruit and a somewhat meaty finish, this is a treat for all year-round quaffing. We found it worked really well with traditional Christmas lunch.
