A first class claret from the unfashionable part of Bordeaux, this wine was awarded a silver medal in both the IWSC and IWC competitions of 2002. It is not hard to understand why. It is a glorious deep plum in colour and has a tantalising aroma of plums, cassis and vanilla.
The taste is exquisite, packed with fruit and a myriad of flavours, and has a reasonable length of finish. We tasted this wine with pan fried duck and found it a success. It had enough acidity to stand up to the richness of the meat and the plummy fruit complemented the duck's tender flavour very well. |
