Fleurie is one of the ten Beujolais cru villages producing a nicely balanced wine, somewhere in the middle of the spectrum of styles on offer. The wines tend to be fruity and floral but with reasonably firm tannins and good structure.
This example is made in the typical style of the region with hand picked Gamay grapes undergoing Carbonic Maceration. It has lively red berry fruit aromas, a rich fruity taste and enough firmness to stand up to many red meat dishes. Best drunk served at room temperature. |
